District Cub Camp all weekend - normally the leaders, etc cook as part of the camp, but because this is a big camp, with lots of wide-ranging activities - some of which are run by leaders of different units - they needed help with the catering and asked for parent volunteers. Another parent and I went down for the day on Saturday to help. (Just for the day - neither of us being big on camping, even in good weather!)
It was a little muddy.
You can see the tiny trip of grass underneath the table in the catering tent. I've never cooked for 85 people before, all at once - it was interesting. At least the rain stopped and the company was fun.
The kids seemed to enjoy it - here's Alex with a whistle made from a carrot - one of the activities in one of the tents. You can't see the mud on him in this photo - the bottom half was fairly covered. I can't wait for all the washing to come home...ha!
Here are my shoes, the next morning.
