Not quite juicy enough to soak through the bread, but tasted pretty nice anyway. Geoff thinks it was quite sweet, whereas I thought it tasted quite sour - perhaps it depended on the bread to fruit ratio on your spoon... Next time we will try to include some blackberries or blackcurrants, but they didn't have either at the farmers' market.
Here it is the day before, being prepared...

That looks good! And, easier to make than a pie, I would think. What do you do to make it, other than put the bread slices in a bowl and add fruit?
