I've read a number of novels by Salley Vickers before and am always happy to read another as she writes well. I enjoyed this tale of a young librarian wrapped in scandal in a small village in the fifties, even though I did find some of the characters a bit frustrating (probably fairly realistic, though, given the provincialness of the time and the location).
