In a truly British fashion, we didn't let the forecast for the Jubilee Sunday stop us from our street party. Luckily, it was more or less clear for a few hours - though some of us went inside just as it was beginning to chuck down rain at around 4pm. Some hardier souls stayed out - I wasn't one of them!
and a number of gazebos out to shelter us from the drizzle - and to shelter the food, of which there was lots and lots.
There was tug of war - for the kids, but also the grownups (the even side of the road won in the men's, but the odds - that's us, no jokes please - won in the women's event). The girls won in the kids' event, but they do heavily outnumber the boys in our road, even with a grownup or two helping the boys.
And of course, there was Pimm's.
