As it was raining on and off today (mostly on) we decided to do something indoors when we met up with my friend Kristen and some of her family (her mother and her niece, who was staying with her while her mom, Kristen's sister, hiked part of the Appalachian trail). We chose Germantown Indoor Swim Center.
It has two large slides, which stretch out over a nice pool with a shallow end and some lanes,
and land in a splash pool.
It also has a shallow section for kiddies to hang out in (this photo only shows about half of that part), and a couple of hot tubs for grownups (actually, to the girls' delight, 14 and up are allowed in, if accompanied by an adult - for the purposes of the exercise yesterday, Olivia counted as 14 and up). There was also a sauna, which we sampled.
And there was a deeper pool - 6 foot at the shallowest end - with lots of lanes strung up for swimming - and some diving boards. The kids were in heaven, and honestly, the adults had a nice time as well.
The late afternoon session ran from 4-6, so we swam/hung out in water for about 2 hours and then went back to Kristen's and changed for dinner.
Kristen's house is right next to a bunch of woods (if woods can come in bunches), so she gets a lot of wildlife - there were deer...
...and bunnies.
Then we all, including Kristen's sister, who just got back from hiking, went out to dinner at Mi Rancho, a TexMex restaurant local to the area. (I think it's a small local chain.)
Here's my prerequisite photo of Olivia drinking - not outdoors this time.
And here's another drink - this one not suitable for Olivia!
This is what I had - a platter with a chicken enchilada, pork tamale and beef soft taco. There was also a chili relleno, on a separate plate, which I am sparing you the photo of! Lots of other fun things were eaten - fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, flautas and so on. Oh, and about 27 baskets of tortilla chips...
