This is my first class book for the year - I'm with a slightly younger age group - Year 4 (that's 8, turning 9) so it was a bit lighter than our books from the past few years (though we did read another by the same author in Year 6 - Garbage King), but a nice story about being different and finding yourself. I'm sure the kids will enjoy it.
