Ironically, when I arrived home from my trip to Farnham (the main purpose of which was NOT buying books in charity shops, however it may seem), this had arrived in the post - I'd seen it reviewed well by several friends, and I'm always on the lookout for good fantasy, so I thought I'd try it out...
