I've read many of Geraldine Brooks' titles and enjoyed all I've read, except The Secret Chord, which I found a bit ponderous. This one was loosely based around the character of Mr March from Little Women, with a healthy dose of the reality of the Alcott family, as well. Definitely up to the standard I had come to expect.
