This is a dark little fairy-tale-esque story which I thoroughly enjoyed. I do wish Tom McNeal would write another book for grownups, as I enjoyed (with a side order of mild depression & sadness) his two adult novels (To Be Sung Underwater and Goodnight, Nebraska), but this is a darn good YA read.
