Take flight...

Aviator? Perhaps not!

And this one is even less likely - in looks, anyway...

But we did have fun looking at the planes and the exhibitions at the College Park Airport Museum.

Until 9/11, College Park Airport was the oldest continually running airport in the US - unfortunately, it had to shut for a period following 9/11 (all airports within a certain distance of DC did) so it can no longer claim that title, but it's once again a functional airport, and the museum is a fun place to spend a few hours - if you have small children, it's particularly good, but even older children can have a bit of fun.

The view across to the runway is pretty, even when there aren't any planes taking off or landing.

There are various kids' activities

as well as some basic displays on the science of flight.

And of course, planes!
