Bronte Country

Our last day in Yorkshire started with a morning trip to Ingleton, a local village, to visit the sweet shop and playground (Geoff and the boys) and the bakery and other village shops (me and the girls).  Loved this display in the bakery - don't the cream cakes look really tempting? We didn't have any as we didn't think they'd travel well for our picnic lunch, though we did have some of the plum & marzipan tray bake (front) and tiffin slice (back right) for said picnic.

As we had a long drive home, we left shortly before lunchtime, stopping in Hawarth, home of the Bronte sisters, to have our picnic in this lovely park

and wander up the main street to visit the Bronte Parsonage Museum

These macaroons and little cakes are all actually bath treats I saw in one of the shops in Hawarth. Because I had Geoff and Alex with me, and because we had a long drive home, we didn't spend any time at all browsing the shops, which is a shame, because there were some really fantastic looking ones...
