Book 51: Love and Treasure by Ayelet Waldman

Super. An involved and involving story about the Hungarian Gold Train, an American Army Officer involved with guarding the loot from it, his granddaughter, a necklace taken from the loot of that train, the daughter's search for the necklace's owner with the help of an art and antiquities expert involved in returning stolen (by Nazis) Jewish property to the descendents of the owners and the backstory of the original owner of the necklace. Whew. And did I mention there's Hungarian DPs in post-war Salzburg, an early Freudian psychoanalyst and  a  radical suffragette dwarf?  Not kidding.  But mainly, the story's about Love. And Treasure.
